Membership
Being involved in PTA is fun
and rewarding! Meetings are not for everyone, but
everyone has a way that they can help! If you are
wanting to be involved but not sure how to get
started here are a few FAQ:
How do I become a member? Becoming a member means that you are recognized
as an active member of PTA statewide and nationally.
Just let us know that you want to join PTA and we
will give you a small slip to fill out and the cost
is $5.00. (25 cents of it goes to the Columbus PTA)
Jennifer Von Holt is our Membership chair, if you
have more questions, feel free to contact her. Do I have to pay to be involved? No. You can volunteer and help out as much as you would like without being a paid member. If you would ever like to vote on PTA items or be an officer then you would need to become a paid member. Higher active membership numbers reflect better on the school, which is why we like you to join! Do I have to come to meetings if I just want to help out once in a while? No, you do not have to attend meetings if you don't want to. We like it when people come to the meetings so we can hear different points of view and input, but we understand that everyone's lives are busy ...so we have meeting minutes posted on this site. If you see something you wish to comment on you can email to Jennifer Von Holt If I sign up to volunteer for one thing, do I have to keep helping out all school year? No. You can help out as little or as much as you would like. We keep emailing you or calling with updates because we want to make sure everyone is included. If you decide you do not wish to be updated, just let us know and we will take you off the list. What if I have an idea for the PTA? If you have an idea you would like to share, you can either talk to Gretchen Wood or come to the next PTA meeting and tell us about it. If you want to ensure that we have adequate time to talk about it, let Gretchen know about a week before the meeting so she can add it to the agenda. |
