Dear Patriots,

As I sit down to write this, I realize how much we’ve already accomplished this school year.  We are almost finished with the first quarter, Homecoming festivities are just behind us, and we are gearing up for our fall musical, The Addams Family.  I want to thank all our students, staff members, parents, and the entire East community for making our start so positive.

The East Parent Association is planning an evening meeting on November 3rd, at 6:30 p.m., in the LMC.  Deb Norton will be providing information on how Chromebooks are being used in the classroom.  This would be a great opportunity for parents to get involved and become more active in your student’s academics.

I want to take this opportunity to invite all families to our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, November 6th.  Faculty looks forward to working with parents to further the success of their students.  Parent-Teacher Conferences are an exceptional opportunity to sit down and meet face to face with your student’s teachers.  Conferences run from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. and are held in the commons and both gyms.

Again, thank you for trusting us to work with your most precious legacy.  We truly are grateful for the opportunity.

Community First Credit Union.

Community First CU and the Appleton Area School District have been working together since 1996 on a collaborative effort to address a lack of financial literacy among young people in Wisconsin and nationwide. This innovative school/business partnership led to the development and introduction of a unique education program to provide ongoing financial education and hands-on learning opportunities for district students

Wellness Screen

Connected Community Wellness Screen improves the emotional wellness of Fox Valley area adolescents by providing school-based assessments for highly treatable mental health needs associated with increased suicide risk.  Wellness Screen also aims to improve access to mental health services for youth.  Wellness Screen will be at Appleton East High school during the spring semester of the 2014-2015 school year.

Concessions Volunteers

Click here to volunteer for East Concessions. Mandatory commitment for parents of all athletes of at least 1 spot (should equal approximately 4 hours), per sport, each child participates in.

Home Field Advantage - Click here to learn more about Appleton East's efforts to get a turf athletic complex.  A Synthetic turf field allows more hours of use – an increase to over 2,000 hours versus 100 hours currently available! Grass turf (and Mother Nature) reduces opportunities for usage.  No longer will soccer practice be cancelled because the grass is too soggy or the marching band unable to use the field because it's too muddy.
