Statements about Appleton East

*Appleton East is a high school that has educational as well as extracurricular activities for every student.  The community is very fortunate to have so many opportunities for students to not only get involved but also to have a dedicated staff that insures student success.  The staff makes every attempt to get the students involved as freshmen in some school-related activity.  When a student is involved he/she feels a part of the school right away.  Every student can find some avenue that he/she can be a part of at Appleton East.

*The level of unity and friendliness here at Appleton East seems to be far superior to any other school I have heard about in our area.  Students are comfortable in being themselves and the hallways are always filled with smiles and friendly faces.  The teachers encourage kindness and are always open and willing to help students.  It is a very positive atmosphere here.

*I believe Appleton East is an amazing school because there is such a tight bond between students and teachers, teachers and teachers, students and students and throughout the entire community.  There is always someone to talk to no matter where you are or what situation you’re in.  It is almost like a second home.

*I like that the teachers here aren’t afraid to relax and have a laugh.  It doesn’t impede that much on the education but makes the day a whole lot easier for kids to get through.

*There is always a student or staff member that will listen.  Students are nice to each other.  Student opinions matter to staff and school.

*We definitely have a lot of school spirit.  It’s great that even the staff members get involved in Spirit Week.  The staff members are also really nice.  It is easy to go in and talk to them.

*I like Appleton East because it has a safe home-like atmosphere.  The students aren’t mean, and they seem to get along and cooperate very well.  The staff is also great because they are funny yet strict enough that you learn new things each day.  I like how the staff allows the students to get involved with the decisions they make too.

*Something that I find very valuable is all of the activities that Appleton East offers.  Some of these activities are PEER Helpers and Student Council that I am involved in.  Without these programs I would never have gotten the great feelings that I get when I get to help out around my school and volunteer around the community.

*What makes Appleton East an outstanding school has everything to do with intangibles that come from the heart.  The administration, teachers and staff go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure each student has every opportunity to succeed.  We are also very fortunate to have three active parent groups supporting the arts, athletics, academic, and social activities that are an important part of our children’s high school experience.
