Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) at Foster

PBIS at Foster
The goal of Foster Elementary School is to provide a safe and productive learning environment for all individuals. Each member of the school community is responsible for behavior that exhibits respect for human dignity and individual differences. All students and staff share the responsibility of maintaining a safe climate that promotes and encourages learning.

In the 2009-2010 school year, Foster implemented the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) program.  This program is designed to teach the desired behaviors throughout the many areas of the school campus.  Through specific teachings of these behaviors at the beginning of the year and weekly instruction focused on behaviors and related social skills, Foster aims to assist students in consistently meeting those desired behaviors.

Parental reinforcement of behavioral expectations is a vital component of a safe, caring environment.  Your continues support of this program is greatly appreciated.

Foundation 4 Learning Update

Important Notice Regarding Foundation 4 Learning:

Thank you for your interest in the Foundation 4 Learning Class at Stephen Foster Elementary Charter School.  The Foundation 4 Learning Class has traditionally been funded by Title I dollars.  For the past two years, Foster’s share of the Title I dollars has been reduced considerably.  As such, we will likely no longer be able to offer the Foundation 4 Learning Class.  We will continue to look for alternative funding options; however, it is likely that the class will not run for the 2012/2013 school year.  We appreciate your interest in Stephen Foster Elementary Charter School and share your disappointment surrounding the subject of Foundations 4 Learning.
