Interested in Learning More about Fox River Academy?

Fox River Academy Middle School is now in the newly
designed Green Teaching Building located directly behind Jefferson School in
Pierce Park. Elementary students' classrooms are co-located within
Jefferson Elementary School. Students attend school in
the classroom as well as the outdoors at a variety of venues.
Students are involved with all-school activities such as Sports, Band,
Orchestra, Scouts as well as many other School clubs and programs
offered within Jefferson Elementary School.

TOURS
Fox River Academy
hosts parent tours for prospective parents by appointment. Prospective parents will meet with the Fox River Academy
staff and a few current Fox River Academy Parents over the
lunch period to discuss the school and how it benefits students.
Prospective parents should bring a waste-free lunch to enjoy. Fox
River Academy
parents will then lead prospective parents on a tour of the building and the
classrooms and the prospective parents are invited to stay and observe
the Discovery class in progress.

How to Enroll?

Complete the Fox River Academy enrollment application
form. Click
here for the application. The
school is open to students in grades
1-8.
Students with Individual Educational Plans (IEPs)
are welcome at the Fox River Academy, if Exceptional Educational Needs (EEN)
services can be provided with the Fox River Academy as the least restrictive
environment as determined by the IEP team.
Accommodations for students with special needs will be
provided according to each students IEP or physical disability.
You will receive written confirmation upon the receipt of the completed
application.
If the number of applicants exceeds available positions, a lottery will be
employed. Priority will be given to siblings of current
and former Fox River Academy students.
If you live outside of the Appleton Area School District,
please contact the AASD Attendance Office at 832-6116 for open enrollment
information. The out of district Open Enrollment application forms are
also available in any public school district attendance office. Open enrollment
forms are usually available near the end of January for the upcoming school
year. The Transportation and Attendance Office can tell you when the window
of dates (usually 3 weeks in either January or February) in which they
will accept applications. It is always
an option for your child to return to your home school district at any
time. Additional information on inter-district open enrollment can be

If you live outside of the Appleton Area School District
and miss the Open Enrollment window, you may not apply to the Fox River
Academy (or any other public school) until the
following year (following
the guidelines and procedures of open enrollment).
If you are interested in the Fox
River Academy for your child, but transportation is of concern, there
may be some solutions to this challenge. First, the Appleton YMCA
operates an after school child care program at the Fox River Academy
Elementary site from 3:20-6:00 p.m. daily. They provide a
structured learning environment at staff help tutor students an dprovide
a variety of activities and games. The Appleton Boys and Girls
Club also provides transportation to the Downtown Club. An Annual
Membership to the Boys and Girls Club costs $15.00.
Finally, transportation may be
available on current bus routes for reasonable cost through AASD.
