If a program called Script Debugger keeps wanting to open when you view some Internet sites in Internet Explorer, you can stop it from happening by clicking on the link below. A new feature of Internet Explorer 7 is that it hides the menu bar (where you have the File - Edit - View - etc menu..). This may be a problem for printing, opening your web page using the "File - Edit" with function, accessing your favorites, etc.

Log in to the computer as in the past and open the Internet
Click on the Safari link under Library Media
Enter your username and password exactly the same as you login to the computer.
Searching in Safari

Log in to Safari Montage (if you need help, see instructions above)
You can use 3 different search paths to locate programming
- Search = searches by keyword
- Subject = browse by subject
- Standards = search by curriculum
Searching by keyword
- Type search terms in the keyword box
- Using the dropdown arrows select grade/age levels
- Choose media types wanted
- Click on Search
Browsing by subject
Click on Subjects at the top
- Click on the subject you want on left
- Click on the next divison you want
- Click on next narrow subject
- Click on Next Narrowest Subject
- Click on desired subject and the programs will appear on the right
Locating by Standards
Click on Standards at the top
- Type keyword(s) in the appropriate box
- Verify Wisconsin is in the drop down box
- Check the subject and grade

- Read program summary to evaluate relevancy
- Click on program title to see segmented chapters or whole program can be viewed
- Click the play button to view program

Click Playlists at the top
Click New Play List on left
Enter text in the appropriate fields below
If you wish to share your list with other AASD users, select Yes under Share this Playlist? If No is selected under this option the list will be saved under My Playlists.
Click Save Playlist Info

Under My Playlists, click the Export in the playlist you want to save
Click Save and save it to your H: drive (as it isn't deleted annually).
- If an error is made, click Cancel
- Ignore the find button
Create a new folder called "Safari Playlists" (You may want to add your initials to the end of the Safari Playlists so your folder is unique)
Create additional folders within the Safari Playlist folder if you wish to organize by Subject.
Give the playlist a title that is not easily forgotten
Click Save
Click Close

Navigate to your Safari Playlist folder in your H: drive and select the playlist you want to import. Click Open

M&M Cart: Connecting computer to project (see cable labels)
- Video
- Disconnect the computer monitor plug from the back of the computer
- Attach VGA cable from the computer to the port the monitor was plugged into
- Sound
- Plug the audio cable into one of the ports in the back of the computer
- Compaq computers have a musical note near the port
Infocus Projector (See M&M cart directions above)
Monovision TV
- Connect black audio cable on the TV cart to the back of the computer
- Compaq computers (white) have a musical note near the port
- Connect white VGA cable
- Disconnect the cord coming from the monitor to the computer.
- Connect the white VGA cable coming out of the back of the TV to the port where the monitor was plugged in.
Individual Computers
- Have students access playlists created by the teacher
Using Closed Captioning for United Streaming

From the Start menu, click Programs - Windows Media Player
In Windows Media Player, right click somewhere near the red box in the picture below, choose Play - Captions and Subtitles, then click On if Available
Open Internet Explorer. On the Staff Home Page click on United Streaming and log in like normal.
On the home screen click on My Account (at the top of the page)
Click on My Preferences
Check the Enable Closed Captioning box and click Save Changes at the bottom of the page
Now choose videos that have the Closed Captioning Icon
After choosing your video, double check that the closed caption box is checked.
The captions are displayed at the bottom of the screen
