Daily Schedule: After School Program
Through a program design that offers multiple choices, students will be empowered to engage in activities based on their emerging interests. A typical daily schedule will be:
3:16-3:30 Arrival/sign-in/snack
3:30-4:30 Homework time with group
4:30-6:00 Clubs and Enrichment Activities
Homework time will consist of providing academic assistance to students who struggle to understand assignments and/or to ensure completion of assignments; tutoring for students who need additional support to master specific skills; and fun, interactive academic skill-building activities that scaffold on the concepts learned during the school day.
During enrichment time, students will have the opportunity to move throughout program areas to engage in activities that respond to their emerging interests and skills. Participant surveys, informal discussions, observations, and the formation of a student advisory council will be the method used to determine the activities that are offered. In addition to academic assistance, students will be exposed to new experiences and opportunities in recreation technology, arts and humanities, and character development.
