McKinley students demonstrate the MJ Way in all school environments.   They understand how to show our three expectations of Responsible, Respectful and Safe.

Teaching behavior expectations through PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) affords all students the initial instruction and on-going support they need to be Responsible, Respectful, and Safe every day in every way.

Students are recognized with Buzzies as they demonstrate positive behaviors.  These Buzzies serve to reinforce and solidify the positive behavior; they are an extrinsic way to recognize the intrinsic motivation that is developing within students to always be Responsible, Respectful, and Safe.  Additionally, the Buzzies  can be used as “currency” in our token economy as student shop the school store each week for everything from school supplies to specialty items.
