The 21st Century Community Learning Centers are
designed to make lasting changes in the lives of children
through positive youth development. The Appleton Area School
District established after-school programs at Columbus, Foster,
Horizons and Lincoln Elementary schools, as well as Roosevelt
Middle School, through funds provided by a US Department of
Education grant. Partnerships with community organizations are
helping the Centers provide academic and enrichment
opportunities for students in safe, supportive after-school
environments.
Mission Statement
"To
create a safe, drug-free environment during non-school hours
that supports student achievement, healthy lifestyles, and
developmental assets through an integrated network of
community-wide partners that is responsive to the diverse needs
of the school community."
