21st Century Community Learning Center

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers are designed to make lasting changes in the lives of children through positive youth development.  The Appleton Area School District established after-school programs at Columbus, Foster, Horizons and Lincoln Elementary schools, as well as Roosevelt Middle School, through funds provided by a US Department of Education grant.  Partnerships with community organizations are helping the Centers provide academic and enrichment opportunities for students in safe, supportive after-school environments.

Mission Statement

"To create a safe, drug-free environment during non-school hours that supports student achievement, healthy lifestyles, and developmental assets through an integrated network of community-wide partners that is responsive to the diverse needs of the school community."
