A note from the principal:
Welcome to Appleton West High School. West opened its doors in 1938 as Appleton Senior High School, and since that time there have been several significant additions, including new science rooms, a new LMC, and many new classrooms, all of which provide a state-of-the-art facility within the original historic structure. The history of Appleton West is woven through the school and serves as a source of pride for our students.
With this strong tradition of pride and excellence, West provides students with the growth opportunities necessary for success in the global community. The curriculum offers challenging courses designed to foster the skills needed to be lifelong learners. Our exemplary staff strives to meet the needs of every one of our 1,600 students. We pride ourselves on building positive relationships with our students, relationships that will foster intellectual curiosity, tolerance, civic pride, and responsibility.
The school community gathers strength through the great diversity West offers. The school promotes varying perspectives and encourages student participation in our many activities and organizations. Pride in excellence and the many traditions will ensure that student contributions to the quality of life at West, the neighborhood, and the community will continue.
