A-Tech Shines with "Brighter Image" Award
A-Tech Receives Award
The Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance presented Appleton Technical Academy with the Brighter Image Award in recognition of their work to create a positive image of manufacturing careers for students on October 21st.

The Brighter Image award is presented as part of the Excellence in Manufacturing/K-12 Partnerships Awards during NEW Manufacturing Alliance’s annual awards dinner at the KI Convention Center. The award validates the importance of A-Tech in providing students with a charter school option that focuses on providing serious students with the skills needed for a successful career in advanced manufacturing and industrial technology.

In cooperation with Fox Valley Technical College and local business leaders, the Appleton Technical Academy, known as A-Tech, provides high school students with a jump-start toward successful and rewarding careers within the manufacturing and technology industries.

Students learn through a blend of hands-on learning and academics. They engage with a mix of both traditional core classes (Math, Science, English, Social Studies) and manufacturing related courses (Welding, Machining, Mechanical Design, Automated Manufacturing). As A-Tech students progress along their educational path, they will be spending more time at FVTC earning college credit and industry experience.

The Alliance believes it is critically important for manufacturers to work with and support education. A-Tech flourishes by partnering with local businesses and manufacturers.

Greg Hartjes, Principal at Appleton Technical Academy said he is “very excited about the progress of A-Tech since our opening last year. This year we have 75 students enrolled in our school, which focuses on Mechanical Design, Welding, Machining, and Automated Manufacturing. We continue to build strong relationships with local manufacturing companies, as well as Fox Valley Technical College.“
