Join CRP's 3rd Annual Hands Around the Courthouse Event to Kick Off April as Child Abuse Prevention & Awareness Month
Let's join hands around Outagamie County's Courthouse, 320 S. Walnut St., Appleton, on April 5th to lend our support for local abused and neglected children as we kick off April as Child Abuse Prevention & Awareness Month.
Hosted by the local Citizen Review Panel serving Outagamie County, this year's Hands Around the Courthouse event features members of Bikers Against Child Abuse Fox Cities Chapter, Outagamie County Executive Thomas Nelson, featured foster parent speaker Leah Hart-Landsberg and musical guest Walt Hamburger. Appleton Area School District social worker/homeless coordinator Lisa Hunt is one of the event's key planning partners.
Festivities get under way on April 5th with a welcome by CRP Co-Chair Pastor Larry Creamer promptly at 4:42 p.m. (we need 442 hands, or 221 people, to make it around), and culminate in less than an hour with the joining of hands in solidarity against abuse and neglect and in support of children who've suffered because of it. Local church bells will ring simultaneously marking the closure of the circle of hands around the courthouse.
This is a rain or shine (or snow) event with all ages welcome. In fact, it's a memorable event for children, many of whom from previous years have commented about looking forward to this year's event again.
So bring family and friends out for this free event that inspires us to end child abuse in the Fox Valley and shows children that we truly care!
