Posted on 04/11/2017
Sharon Fenlon is retiring after three decades on the Appleton Area School District school board. She's been the president for the last 23 years.

The AASD held a celebration for her before last night's school board meeting at Edison Elementary, Sharon's home school. We showed this video made with help from staff, students, administrators and educators from across the district.

Thank you for everything, Sharon.

Last night Sharon Fenlon received a proclamation from Mayor Hanna at Edison Elementary. The proclamation declared April 10th, 2017 as "Sharon Fenlon Day" in the city of Appleton in recognition of Sharon's leadership of the Appleton Area School District school board over the last 30 years. Thank you Mayor Hanna for bestowing this honor on Sharon.

Sharon Fenlon received a Certificate of Commendation from the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) on Monday afternoon. WASB's Executive Director, John Ashley, was on hand to present this honor to Sharon. Congrats Sharon!

Sharon Fenlon received a legislative citation for her 30 years of service with the AASD school board from our local legislators including State Senator Roger Roth, Wisconsin State Representative Dave Murphy, Rep. Ron Tusler, State Representative Mike Rohrkaste and Representative Amanda Stuck.

Senator Roth was on hand to present the citation to Sharon at her retirement celebration on Monday.
