This message is meant to make you aware of a threatening message that circulated on some social media apps last evening that referred to “North High School.”  We were made aware of this threatening message by several students and staff.

Appleton Police Department acted immediately to determine the author of the message. Their investigation showed that the message came from outside the United States and that there was no credible threat directed at Appleton North HS. Additional information regarding this situation may be found on the Appleton Police Department website.

We understand that we are all on high alert right now based upon the recent incidents in Waukesha and Oshkosh. Please know that we, the staff of the Appleton Area School District, will continue to work with the Appleton Police Department to ensure the safety of our students. In addition, we also rely on our students, staff and parents to contact the building principal and/or the Appleton Police Department regarding any possible threats. The safety of our students is our highest priority.

If you believe that your child is struggling with the recent news of school violence, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s counselor or building principal.
