The Appleton Area School District offers high-quality, sustainable out-of-school time learning opportunities and programming for students. These programs are provided through a partnership with the Appleton YMCA and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley

The Boys & Girls Club offers many activities through their after-school and summer programs at their downtown site and school-based sites. Read their FAQ's for hours and fee information.

YMCA 
The YMCA provides safe, quality care for children at various sites throughout the Appleton area. Any child age 5 to 13 years is welcome to participate in the program. Check out their website for hours and fee information.

21st Century After School Program

The 21st Century After School program is provided in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club and the YMCA at nine elementary and two middle schools within the Appleton Area School District.

Transportation

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Appleton will provide direct transportation for the following schools on regular & ½ school days

  • Edison
  • Franklin
  • Houdini
  • Highlands
  • Huntley
  • Jefferson

The schools above also have in-house School Age Programming.


School Age Programming

The YMCA provides safe, quality care for children at various sites throughout the Appleton area. Any child age 5 to 12 years is welcome to participate in the program. The program is licensed by the state of Wisconsin under the group child care regulations.

School Age Summer Care 2017

Appleton YMCA School Age Department offers full day care for children ages 5-12 yrs. at the following school sites during the summer months: Edna Ferber and Janet Berry.

Interested in volunteering?

Volunteers usually help with homework either one-on-one or in small groups for the first hour. The second hour is generally a time for playing games and doing activities in the gym or outdoors.

Out-of-School Time (OST) Coalition

The Out-of-School Time Coalition is a partnership between the Appleton Area School District (AASD), the Boys & Girls Club of the Fox Valley and the YMCA. It ensures all high-need youth in Appleton have access to high-quality, sustainable out-of-school time learning opportunities. Quality out-of-school-time programs provide critical, incremental assistance to help build academic success as well as effectively address other key correlated concerns around youth safety, positive youth development, and family support.
