Mielke Educator of the Year Award Mielke

Since 1983, outstanding AASD educators have been recognized through the Mielke Educator of the Year awards.

The Mielke Family Foundation has designated two categories for this prestigious award: Elementary and Secondary. School staff, parents, students, or community members may generate nominations.

Mielke award winners receive an unrestricted cash award of $1,000, which will be presented at the AASD All Staff Gathering before the beginning of the school year.

Nomination packets are due to Kimm Smith at the Scullen Leadership Center by June 15.

Nominations can be generated by staff, students, or the community.

The Helen & Ade Dillon Award Dillon

The Dillon Award recognizes an AASD staff member who encourages a balanced life for students in and out of the classroom or school setting. This staff member takes a personal interest in students' moral, mental, and physical development, thereby enhancing the students' life skills for the continued development of academics, fitness, and citizenship.  

This individual will have successfully completed a minimum of 5 years employment in the Appleton Area School District. To honor the Dillons' legacy, one unrestricted cash award of $1,000 will be presented to a recipient at the AASD All Staff Gathering before the beginning of the school year.

Applications are due to Kimm Smith at the Scullen Leadership Center no later than June 15th.
