Art on the Town: Out of the Box project revealing AASD student artwork
Posted on 07/11/2016
The Out of the Box project transforms city infrastructure into public art!

Thanks to grants from Principal Financial and the Mielke Family Foundation, the 16 traffic control boxes in Downtown Appleton will feature artistic representations of the diverse cultures of the Fox Cities beginning July 15, 2016.

Creative Downtown Appleton, a 501c3 organization administered by Downtown Appleton Inc., spearheaded the project with help from the City of Appleton and Appleton Area School District.

Traffic control boxes will be wrapped with original works of art created by local middle school and high school students.

The artwork was created in collaboration with students in Wilson Middle School, Madison Middle School, Einstein Middle School, Roosevelt/Kaleidoscope Middle School, Appleton East High School, Appleton North High School, Appleton West High School, Appleton Career Academy and the Renaissance School for the Arts.
