Elementary Virtual School

EVS was designed to provide families with a fully virtual learning option for the 2020-21 school year. Our school is made up of over 1,300 students in grades 5K-6 and over 50 teachers.  We are excited to welcome your child(ren) to our school and we look forward to providing them with a first-class virtual learning experience.

On a final note, thank you for your grace and patience as we work through the launch of the AASD Elementary Virtual School. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with you, your child(ren) and to serve as the principal at EVS. Please don’t hesitate to reach out during the remainder of the summer or as the school year begins if you have questions that I can help answer. Thank you!

Principal Krizan

Meet & Greet

If you did not receive an email, please reach out to your child's teacher. If your child does not have a teacher listed ("TBD"), you do not need to attend Meet and Greet yet. We are working on finalizing a couple of hires and the teachers will reach out with an alternative meet and greet time for the end of this week or next week.

Class Rosters

Class rosters are available in Infinite Campus. Find instructions on how to access student schedules here. All staff positions are filled with the exception of a first grade position due to a late resignation. Infinite Campus should be updated by the end of the day on August 28 to reflect your child’s teacher.

School Supplies & District Provided Materials Pick-Up

Students will be picking up supplies (math workbooks, art and music kits, library/bookroom books, etc) from their home school. Please see this listing of the first wave of material distribution dates and times for our schools. If you are not able to attend the pick-up, or the date has passed, please reach out to your home school to set up a time that works best for your family.

Throughout the year, any additional supply pickups will take place at your child’s home school.  Information will be shared with you and your child on how they can order books through Destiny and a process for picking these books up at their homeschool through curbside pickup.

A list of family provided school supplies can be accessed through the following link.

All teachers will be utilizing Canvas as our Learning Management System.  Canvas provides teachers with a platform to share content and interact with students. More information on Canvas can be found in the AASD Virtual/Online Learning Guidebook

Classroom teachers will be sharing a schedule with families outline times that students are suggested to be online. If a student cannot attend during these times, please know a recording of the lessons will be recorded for students to watch later.

Contacting Teachers

View all EVS teachers in our Staff Directory.

It is probably easiest to reach your teacher through email. If you would like to talk with your child’s teacher, please contact (920) 997-1399 and enter the teacher’s voicemail extension.

Voicemail extensions and emails can be found in the Staff Directory or in Canvas.

Your teacher will respond to you within 24 hours or by the end of the day Monday on messages left over the weekend.

Transition Between Models

Once class lists are created, we need to consider class size before allowing any moves between models. Due to class size caps for the in-person model (due to safety), it will be challenging for us to approve requests from families who select the virtual model to switch to the in-person model.

Thus, we are asking families that would like the Elementary Virtual School to commit for the semester. As we do not have the same class size limits due to safety in the virtual model, we have more flexibility in having a student move from in-person to virtual. However, we still indicate “if space” as will want to maintain a class size in the virtual setting that is manageable for the teacher and conducive to student learning.
