As I sit down to write this, I realize how much we’ve already accomplished this school year. We are almost finished with the first quarter, Homecoming festivities are just behind us, and we are gearing up for our fall musical, The Addams Family. I want to thank all our students, staff members, parents, and the entire East community for making our start so positive.
A special shout out is in order to our East Key Club, led by Amy Loritz, and the East Football Team, under the direction of head coach Pat Schwanke. They were instrumental in the East Tackles Cancer fund raiser on October 10th. Through their efforts and too many other people to mention here, Appleton East/North raised over $31,000 to donate to the American Cancer Society. Everyone who took part in the evening was moved by the cancer survivors who took their victory lap and by the Appleton East and North football teams who served as their escorts. I was truly bursting at the seams with my Patriot Pride!
The East Parent Association is planning an evening meeting on November 3rd, at 6:30 p.m., in the LMC. Deb Norton will be providing information on how Chromebooks are being used in the classroom. This would be a great opportunity for parents to get involved and become more active in your student’s academics.
I want to take this opportunity to invite all families to our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, November 6th. Faculty looks forward to working with parents to further the success of their students. Parent-Teacher Conferences are an exceptional opportunity to sit down and meet face to face with your student’s teachers. Conferences run from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. and are held in the commons and both gyms.
Again, thank you for trusting us to work with your most precious legacy. We truly are grateful for the opportunity.
