You can user the remote client for Mac to connect from home via remote.aasd.k12.wi.us

There are two versions of the client so which one needs on your Mac

Option 1: For Processor: Macintosh PowerPC, Operating System: Mac OS X version 10.2.8 or later

  1. Download and install this CLIENT
  2. Open Finder
  3. Open Application Folder
  4. Open Remote Desktop Connection
  5. Enter remote.aasd.k12.wi.us
  6. Enter username and password and make sure it says AASD for the domain.

Option 2: For Operating System: Mac OS X version 10.4.9 (Tiger) or a later version

  1. Download and install this CLIENT
  2. Open Finder
  3. Open Application Folder
  4. Open Remote Desktop Connection
  5. Enter remote.aasd.k12.wi.us
  6. Enter username and password and make sure it says AASD for the domain.

If you're not sure whether you computer meets these requirements, you can display information about your computer by using the Apple System Profiler program included with Mac OS X.  To start the program click the Apple menu - About This Mac - More Info

When connecting, you should specify remote.aasd.k12.wi.us as the name of the remote computer

If you have trouble connecting and have a firewall or router, ask your techie friend to make sure port 3389 is open.


Remote access from an iPad

While you cannot directly "remote" into the AASD via an iPad, there is an app (PocketCloud) that is available to do so.
