Teacher Appreciation Week

A message from the District Leadership Team in honor of Teach Appreciation Week:

When we consider the people who have had the most impact on our lives, teachers are always among the first to come to mind. From our earliest years, they guide us, encourage us, and inspire us to be the best we can be. Teachers are the spark igniting a flame that builds imagination and confidence in us as learners.

Presidents, astronauts, celebrities -- they all fondly recall a teacher who pushed them to try harder. Time and space may amplify your impact, but it’s the day-to-day interactions that cement it.

Without teachers our classrooms are just rooms and our schools are just buildings. Without teachers our curriculum is just words on a page and the long days are just hours.

In our interactions with parents and students, we are always heartened to hear about phenomenal educators - members of our staff that took the extra time, gave the extra effort - but, we are never surprised. We expect that we are going to hear compliments on Appleton’s teaching staff because we know you -  as colleagues, as friends and as role models.

However, please know that just because we’ve come to expect the greatness that is our teachers it does not mean that we do not appreciate it. You are so very much appreciated. Not just because of what you do within the walls of our buildings and classrooms, but who you are in the lives of our students and in our community.

We are forever grateful that you have chosen to work with us, the Appleton Area School District. Our students are forever lucky to learn from you. Our community is forever changed by the work you do with every child, every day.

Thank you!
