Update to Meals During Virtual Learning

Update to Meals During Virtual Learning
Posted on 09/01/2020
The Appleton Area School District is providing free meals for all children, ages 18 and under, through the end of December or as long as federal funding is available.

Meal pick up sites have been expanded to include most elementary and middle schools, along with all three high school locations. Preordering of meals is still required to prevent food waste and ensure sufficient availability of meals. The first pick up date for the recently added elementary and middle school sites will be Wednesday, September 16 to allow for meal distribution set up. Families can pick up from our high school sites until then.

Families are welcome to walk or drive to their neighborhood school each school day to pick up meals for that day. If families would prefer to pick up a week’s worth of meals (five breakfasts and five lunches) at one time, they can do this at each of our high school sites during scheduled pickup times.

Students do not need to be present during pick up and families do not need to enter the school. Families can choose whatever pick up site is convenient for them. Learn how to participate in this program, find a full listing of sites and pick up times, and more on the district website.

IMPORTANT: If you think your family may qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, please apply now so that you are covered when this free program ends.
