Dan Spalding Academy

Dan Spalding Academy meets the academic, social and behavioral needs of high school students who have been expelled or voluntarily withdrawn while also providing services to address the behaviors and decision making that resulted in the expulsion or withdrawal. It includes program offerings during the school year and summer school.

The goal of providing post-expulsion or withdrawal services is to assist secondary students in advancing their school and social skills while under expulsion orders and/or withdrawal agreements. These students have the opportunity to work on academic growth and behavioral issues related to the complexities of their at-risk behaviors, in addition to their affective needs in an alternative setting with a low student-to-staff ratio.

Students gain credits toward graduation by meeting district and state standards. School staff work closely with students, parent, community agencies and administrators to ensure that the students complete the expectations of the expulsion and/or withdrawal agreement to successfully transition back to their home schools at the end of the expulsion or withdrawal period.

Program Hours

Monday - Thursday from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

At-Risk Criteria

The student has been expelled or voluntarily withdrawn.
