A Wisconsin high school diploma may not be granted until all students have taken and passed, with a score of 65 or better, this assessment; a special needs student’s individualized education plan (IEP) governs the civics exam requirements.
The IEP team must determine the appropriateness of administering the state civics exam, as well as whether it is appropriate to require that the student pass the civics exam in order to graduate. This 100 question exam is locally formatted, administered, and scheduled and may be taken until passed.
