High (9-12)

Over the past 10 years, our district has made several changes to how we assign grades in high school.

During the 2024–25 school year, teachers from our three high schools worked together to find better ways to share grades with families. Our goal is to give a clearer picture of each student’s learning—what they’re doing well and where they may need extra support. In the past, the points-only system sometimes hid important skill gaps, which could make it harder for students in the long run.

By focusing on specific learning standards, grades now show more accurately what a student knows and can do. This helps students take responsibility for all areas of their learning, instead of strong competencies in one skill area covering up challenges in another.

As a result, we now use a grading system that looks more like the familiar 100-point scale most people know.
