Volunteer Openings
March 13, 2020 - The health and safety of our students, staff, families, and volunteers are a top priority. Therefore as a district, we are following recommendations to prevent the spread of this virus in our community. We will pause our volunteer tutoring programs, the United for Reading Success and Math Achievement Program, effective Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice. We will continue to monitor and provide updates as more information becomes available.
Training, daily lesson plans
and orientation are provided. If you would like to observe tutoring, this can easily be arranged.
Regular tutor openings are listed below by school. As indicated, all schools are in need of active substitute tutors. Substitute tutors have greater flexibility than being a regular weekly tutor.
Applications for new tutors are being accepted for the current school year.
Ready to volunteer?
After school programming is provided in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club and the YMCA at nine elementary and two middle schools within the Appleton Area School District.
Every child needs to know there is someone they can count on. Your involvement in the after-school program will help the children of our community develop into healthy, successful adults.
Each school has a staff to coordinate and manage the after-school program, but volunteers are a tremendous help and very appreciated!
High school students are especially encouraged to get involved in this program as volunteer mentors after school.
