Safe & Resilient Return

Based upon a review of the overall downward trend in burden (positive case rate) and trajectory for both the City of Appleton and the tri-county region over the past two months and weighing the essential need for in-person learning opportunities that support many of our students’ academic, social and emotional needs, the following plan will be followed:

Starting January 19, 2021:

  • Early Childhood/4K will start in a fully in-person model following their traditional program schedule.
  • Grade 5K-4 will return fully in-person 5 days per week.
  • Grade 5 and 6 will return in an AA/BB hybrid model.
  • Grades 7-12 will follow the previously planned cohort hybrid model.

We must continue to work together to follow all of the safety guidelines and expectations that have been developed to minimize the risk of transmission of the virus. This is absolutely critical to maintaining increased levels of in-person learning in the AASD. As Be Safe Wisconsin says, “It is undeniable that COVID-19 has changed what it means to be safe as a community. Now is the time for everyone in Wisconsin to do their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19.”
