We are pleased to welcome Oliver Zornow to the Appleton Area School District Board of Education for a three-year term. Congratulations, Oliver, and thank you for your dedication to public education in our community!
Oliver is a proud AASD graduate and the father of two elementary students currently enrolled in the district. He grew up in the greater Fox Cities and attended Valley New School, where he launched a primary school in Haiti for his senior project—an institution that remains in operation today.
A longtime Appleton resident, Oliver graduated summa cum laude from Lawrence University in 2010 with a degree in government and economics. He then served in the U.S. Peace Corps in eSwatini as an Education and Youth Development Specialist, focusing on school administration, food security, and computer literacy.
Currently, Oliver serves as President of The Building for Kids Children’s Museum and actively contributes to numerous nonprofit boards and committees across the region. He was recognized as a Fox Cities Future 15 Young Professional in 2017 and honored as one of Insight Publications' 40 Under 40 in 2024.
Oliver is deeply committed to ensuring strong investments in public schools to attract and retain exceptional educators and support every classroom. He advocates for a high-accountability culture with clear communication and values learning directly from the community.
