The construction of Sandy Slope Elementary School is progressing steadily, marking an exciting new chapter for the Appleton Area School District. Scheduled to open in fall 2025, the school will serve as a modern and welcoming environment for students and staff, while addressing the district’s growth and the community’s evolving needs.
A recent highlight in the construction process was welcoming the Van Handel family for a school tour. The family was able to see the progress firsthand and reflect on the impact the school will have on the community.
Additionally, the district hosted a media tour of the site, giving local media a behind-the-scenes look at the future school. Visitors walked through the emerging layout of classrooms, common spaces, and specialized areas, gaining insight into how the building is designed to support innovative learning. District representatives discussed features such as flexible learning environments, energy-efficient systems, and spaces dedicated to STEM education.
