During the Board of Education meeting on January 13, the Board approved the repurposing of the Columbus Elementary School building for other educational purposes starting with the 2025-2026 school year. According to the latest information from the Department of Transportation, the Ballard Road Interchange project will significantly impact several AASD northside schools in 2025.

- Materials Review
The AASD Director of Secondary Education - English Language Arts/World Languages/Social Studies is reviewing instructional materials for their courses. As part of the adoption process, AASD staff members, students, parents, and residents are provided with the opportunity to examine and contribute feedback on the recommended instructional materials.

A recent highlight in the Sandy Slope construction process was welcoming the Van Handel family for a school tour. The family was able to see the progress firsthand and reflect on the impact the school will have on the community.
