We encourage the use of these direct interpreter lines for assistance with:
- Enrollment and registration
- Clarification or more information on district communications and family messages
- Non-site-specific concerns or questions
- If you have a school-specific question, need to speak to your student’s teacher, or need to report attendance, please contact your school and request to speak to their interpreter
Our District interpreter service team will monitor these mailboxes Monday through Friday and will provide interpretation service to you within 24 hours during business hours.
If your message is left after 12:00 p.m. on Friday, or during a non-school day, your message will be returned the following school day. Please leave a detailed message that includes your full name, your preferred contact method details, either your phone number or email address, and the reason for your call.
Please indicate in your message if you’d like the interpreter to contact you back, or if this message is a request that should be interpreted on your behalf and passed along for action to another department or school building.

Tus neeg pab txhais lus/Servicio de Intérprete del DistritoEs la intención y compromiso del Distrito Escolar del Área de Appleton proveer acceso a comunicación directa a nuestras familias multilingües, y asegurarse de que todas las familias comprendan asuntos clave, eventos y material producido y emitido por el Distrito.
Si en casa se habla otro idioma diferente al inglés, alentamos a los padres y tutores del Distrito Escolar del Área de Appleton a utilizar nuestras líneas telefónicas en hmong y en español.
Recomendamos el uso de estas líneas directas a un intérprete para ayuda con:
- Inscripción y registro
- Aclaración o mayor información acerca de mensajes del Distrito y mensajes a las familias
- Preguntas o dudas no específicas del plantel escolar
- Si usted tiene una pregunta específica acerca de la escuela, debe hablar con el maestro/a de su estudiante, o si necesita reportar inasistencias, por favor llame a Servicios al Estudiante de la escuela y presione la opción en español, o solicite hablar con el intérprete de la escuela.

To arrange Sign Language Interpreting for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students or parents/guardians for:
- IEP meetings
- Extracurricular activities
- Parent-teacher conferences
Request Process
Please send an email to geertskaren@aasd.k12.wi.us and include the following information:
- Date(s) when services are needed
- Name of person needing interpreter, including grade level (if student)
- Location (building and room number)
- Time (start and end)
- Brief description of event
A reasonable effort will be made to fill every request.
It is recommended to make requests at least 48 hours in advance to ensure availability. Thank you.
