Access to School Employee Discipline Records Pursuant to 2025 Wisconsin Act 57
Wisconsin law provides parents and guardians with rights to access certain records regarding school employee discipline.
Under Wis. Stat. § 118.07(6)(b), school boards are required to annually provide parents and guardians with information regarding their rights to access records concerning school employee discipline under Subchapter II of Chapter 19 of the Wisconsin Statutes, Wisconsin's Public Records Law.
Parents and guardians may request access to public records regarding school employee discipline. Requests are subject to Wisconsin's Public Records Law and any applicable state or federal confidentiality and privacy requirements. Not all records or information related to employee discipline may be available for disclosure.
