Sandy Slope School Boundaries

Next fall the Appleton Area School District will open Sandy Slope Elementary School, the district’s 17th neighborhood elementary school. Sandy Slope will be located on the northeast side of Appleton, near Appleton North High School.

To prepare for this, Superintendent Greg Hartjes and AASD leadership are gathering community input on established criteria that will be used by the Board of Education in setting attendance boundaries for Sandy Slope Elementary School. These new boundaries will determine student enrollment at Sandy Slope and ensure the efficient use of resources. The goal is to balance enrollment, staffing, and student support across all AASD schools.

In addition, the Executive Team held two listening sessions, one at Huntley and one at Ferber Elementary School. These meetings were open to the community, including parents and staff.
