372.3

PERFORMANCE OF MUSIC GROUPS

The high school bands, choruses, or orchestras shall be permitted to perform at school functions and school activities, and for civic, patriotic, and educational organizations for the purpose of demonstrating to the public the progress of said groups.

School musical groups shall not be permitted to provide musical entertainment for individuals or for organizations engaged in such enterprise for private profit.

The uniforms required for the high school bands shall be provided by budget funds, but contributions for such purposes may be accepted as gifts according to established guidelines.

In the event that administrators and those in immediate charge of musical groups are unable to determine whether or not a request for performances by the high school music groups is within the spirit and intent of this policy, the request shall be submitted to the Board of Education for its decision.
