411.33

ACCOMMODATION OF RELIGIOUS BELIEFS

Reasonable accommodation of a student’s sincerely held religious beliefs shall be made with regard to all examinations and other academic activities. The student (if over the age of eighteen) or the parent/guardian of a minor student may request accommodation in confidence by notifying the building principal or his/her designee. The student shall be permitted to make up the examination(s) or academic activities at a mutually convenient date and time or by an alternative means without prejudicial effect.

The District encourages informal resolution of complaints under this policy. A Formal Complaint Procedure is delineated in 411.2–Rule.
