WITHDRAWAL FROM SCHOOL
The School District may grant permission for students to be excused from school attendance. State Law Chapter 298, Sec. 9-118.15 (1) allows a student sixteen years or older to be withdrawn as excused from school attendance with parent permission and permission of the School District Board of Education and/or their appointed representative. The student may return to school by submitting a completed written request form to the school from which he/she withdrew. The Board may specify when the student will be excused or readmitted after being excused from school attendance. Parents/students have a right to request for the student to attend a vocational school as an alternative on a full of part-time basis.
Upon withdrawal of a student, the completed request form will be sent to the Assistant Superintendent, who will report early withdrawals to the Board of Education once per semester each school year.
