ENROLLMENT PROJECTIONS

Enrollment projections will be prepared on a five-year basis under the direction of the Superintendent or his/her designee, and will be reviewed and brought up-to-date annually.

Whenever construction of new school facilities or the closing of any school buildings is being contemplated, the Board may authorize outside studies to be made of population trends and school enrollment.

ENROLLMENT PROJECTIONS

Procedures

Enrollment projections will be complied by each building principal and submitted to the Assistant Superintendent/School Services for study and compilation.

Projections will take into consideration data gathered from the following sources:

  1. Figures from the last school census.
  2. School registration figures.
  3. Growth factors for school attendance areas where growth has been experienced over consecutive years, including birth rate statistics.
  4. Review of forthcoming changes in city and town planning and zoning.
  5. Review of current and planned community land development and housing projects.
