Superintendent

Greg Hartjes has been Superintendent of Schools for the Appleton Area School District since 2022. He served as the Chief Financial Officer for the District from 2017 to 2022, and prior to that was Principal of Appleton West High School, Appleton Technical Academy (ATECH), and Renaissance School for the Arts, Associate Principal, math teacher, and basketball coach in the AASD. He started in the Appleton Area School District in 1992.

Mr. Hartjes has a Master of Educational Leadership degree from Marian University, a Master of Mathematics Education degree from UW-Oshkosh, and a Bachelor in Mathematics degree from UW-Stevens Point. He is the father of three AASD graduates and his wife is an Administrative Assistant in the district.

Mr. Hartjes works diligently towards the District’s motto, “Succes for Every Student, Every Day.” 

He fully believes that by working together, students, families, staff, and our community will ensure that each Appleton Area School District graduate is academically, socially, and emotionally prepared for success in life.
