21-22 School Year Planning

21-22 School Year Planning
Posted on 05/19/2021
Although it’s very likely there will be some COVID-19 mitigation strategies that will remain in place as we begin the 2021-22 school year, we’re certain we will be able to provide in-person learning on a fully in-person five day per week schedule for all students while continuing to protect the health and safety of our school communities.

We will continue to review multiple pieces of information in the upcoming weeks, including current guidance from our health care partners and public health, as well as internal and external data in order to develop specific expectations for mitigation strategies for the 2021-22 school year.

As we have shared previously, the current plan for the 21-22 school year is in-person, in-classroom instruction five days a week for all students, which meets the requirements for minutes of instruction from the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) for all grade levels:
 - Early Childhood and 4K fully in-person, following their calendars,
 - 5K-12 fully in-person five full days per week
 - Two fully virtual options through WCA (4K-12) and Appleton eSchool (9-12).

We look forward to having all students return to what we certainly hope will be a more ‘traditional’ school year on September 1, 2021, which is the first day of school in the AASD.
