Over 500 strings students from across the district will be participating in our annual AASD Strings Festival, sponsored by Heid Music and held at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center tomorrow evening.
Back in 1948, Heid Music was founded by Peter "Duke" Heid, who had a passion for bringing the joy of music to the community. He went on to help pioneer programs in schools across Wisconsin, building a legacy of supporting music education that continues to this day. Throughout their 75 years in business, they have been dedicated to helping people create their own musical legacies.
Owner and CEO of Heid Music, Todd Heid, is excited each year to continue to support music education. “We are pleased to extend our support to the AASD for their All City Strings Program. This program brings together students from elementary to high school to perform together in our visually stunning Performing Arts Center.
It is a collaborative effort between Appleton Schools, Fox Cities PAC, and Heid Music. The All-City Strings Program is a fantastic opportunity for students to practice and perform music, celebrating their talent and promoting growth in the field. We are especially happy that this event coincides with #MusicinOurSchools Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the importance of music education. Overall, we are proud to be a part of such a meaningful initiative that showcases the skills and creativity of young musicians.”
A fan-favorite initiative of Heid Music, happening right now, is the
Big 10 Plus contest, held annually throughout the month of March, where schools are invited to submit their favorite photos from their music programs. Friends and family can vote for their favorite photos, and the programs that receive the most votes can win some incredible prizes. Through the Big 10+ contest, the AASD has been awarded with numerous prizes, including new instruments, music, and other valuable resources.
