The AASD and our partners are hiring! Join us to help support our students.

All open administrative, certified, and support staff positions are posted to our Frontline Education website.

Registration with Frontline is free and confidential. The AASD does not have access to the names of individuals who register with Frontline until a person applies for an open position in our school district. The AASD accepts applications for internal and external candidates through Frontline Education only. Please note the application deadline date for each position.

Paraprofessionals can work up to 35 hours per week, but as little as 10 hours per week. Paraprofessionals need a high school diploma. Further requirements will depend on the position.


  • Assist teachers in regular education classrooms
  • Assist in libraries and lunchrooms
  • Assist teachers in special education classrooms
  • Work as Hmong or Spanish interpreters
  • Ride the school bus to and from school with our special education students

Starting Pay for Paras 

  • Regular Ed Paras: $13.89
  • Special Ed Paras: $14.72
  • EL Interpreter Paras: $16.11

Requirements for Substitute Teachers

  • Current Wisconsin Educator License OR
  • Associate degree or higher
  • A completed application on WECAN

Starting Pay for Substitute Teachers

  • Teacher: $130.00/day, 11-19 days - $150.00, 20+ days - $200.00
  • Teacher with Spec Ed License or AASD training: $145.00/day, 11-19 days - $165.00, 20+ days - $215.00

New Permit Option
We now accept applicants who have a Bachelor's or Associate's degree but do not hold a teaching license. We provide training through CESA 6, which allows the applicant to obtain a permit license through the Department of Public Instruction. They are initially assigned to one building where they can connect with a consistent staff team, become familiar with procedures, and receive support as they are learning the job.

Requirements for Substitute Paraprofessionals

  • High school diploma

  • Paraprofessionals work at all levels and all schools. 

Starting Pay for Substitute Paras 

  • Paraprofessional: $13.50/ hour regular rate, $13.62/hour long term rate
  • Para with AASD Spec Ed Training: $14.50/hour regular rate, $14.62/hour long term rate 
  • Bus Para: $14.50/hour regular rate, $14.62/hour long term rate
  • ELL Interpreter: $15.25/hour regular rate, $15.79/hour long term rate
  • DHH Interpreter: $22.00/hour

Once hired, the AASD will pay for the substitute to acquire a Special Education Aide license through DPI.

Chartwells is the food service provider for the AASD. They are currently hiring full-time and part-time associates. Shifts are Monday-Friday with hours ranging between 6:15 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. No weekends.
