May is Mental Health Awareness Month

As we recognize May as Mental Health Awareness Month, it's important to acknowledge that mental health is a crucial aspect of overall well-being. The AASD understands the significance of supporting students' mental health and values collaboration with families and the community towards this goal.

Just like physical wellness, mental wellness requires continuous care and support. Some effective habits that families can adopt to promote youth mental well-being include regular sleep, spending time outdoors, limiting screen time, and engaging in activities with trusted individuals.

Our schools prioritize students' problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and healthy behaviors through our health and social-emotional curriculums, as well as our comprehensive school counseling program.

We understand that additional support may be necessary at times, and we encourage families to explore their options to access the resources they need to support their child's mental wellness. Start here to learn more about accessing support for your child.
