The second annual MLK Jr. Community Day of Service will be on Monday, January 20, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at West High School, located at 610 N. Badger Ave. in Appleton. It is free and open to the public.

When the weather is bad the Appleton Area School District follows a process for deciding if schools will be open or closed. The district must make a decision that is the best for all students.

The Appleton Area School District School Fair is a convenient and easy way to experience all thirty-five AASD schools in one location. It will be held on Saturday, January 11 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on the 2nd Floor of the City Center Plaza 10 E College Ave, in downtown Appleton.

We understand that choosing your child’s school is a significant decision. We want you to be aware of upcoming opportunities to learn more about our school offerings.

We understand that we are all on high alert right now based upon the recent incidents in Waukesha and Oshkosh. Please know that we, the staff of the Appleton Area School District, will continue to work with the Appleton Police Department to ensure the safety of our students. In addition, we also rely on our students, staff and parents to contact the building principal and/or the Appleton Police Department regarding any possible threats. The safety of our students is our highest priority.

Our charter school application window opened on December 2, 2019 for the 2020-2021 school year.

Online enrollment begins Monday, February 3, 2020.

Through the first four meetings of the AASD Future Needs Advisory Committee, the members have learned about the many challenges our District faces in meeting the needs of our students within our current facilities.

The Student Leadership Program (SLP) is a community program designed to equip students with tangible skills to explore options beyond the classroom. SLP encourages higher grades, lifelong learning and personal development. The program focuses on giving students skills and life experiences that will benefit them after they graduate from high school.

In an effort to improve schools and school systems, the Wisconsin School Health Award is a way to recognize and celebrate schools with policies, programs, and the infrastructure to promote and sustain a healthy learning environment.
