This past summer we underwent a brand refresh at the district level. The goal of this project was to create a consistent brand experience across all Appleton Area School District (AASD) departments and materials. This work will support the goal of increasing consistency and credibility within the AASD and externally.

Part of this rebrand was a refreshed logo. The AASD had been utilizing the same logo for 15+ years leading to a dated design. Brand standards were never established and have not supported the increasingly complex work of the district. Multiple versions of logos existed which diluted the meaning/relevance of the district logo. We also had limiting and difficult colors to work with.

Our new logo isn’t just a logo for us. It represents the diversity of our students, community, and staff. The new logo shows collaboration and partnership, unity and togetherness while using three apples instead of one - reminding us that we are focused not just on academics but also on preparing our students for success socially and emotionally as well. We also used three varieties of apples to show the diversity of our students, staff, and communities.

Quick Guidelines for District Logo Use:

  • The logo must retain the original and official logo colors in any re-printing.
  • If the logo is re-sized, it must retain its original properties.
  • If additional text is added near the logo, it must not appear to be part of the logo.
  • The logo may not be rotated or flipped in any way.
  • Do not rearrange the symbol and logotype relationships.
