Birth-Five Outreach

Support for all Families

85% of the foundation for a child’s intellect, personality and skills is formed by age 5. The Appleton Area School District’s Birth – Five Outreach Program offers an inclusive network of family care services, school information and community support.

The Birth–Five Outreach Program builds positive relationships with families by offering connections to many school and community resources early on.

Summer Activities

The purpose of the Birth–Five Outreach Program is to identify and connect with parents of children ages 0-5 who reside within the Appleton Area School District.

The Birth – Five Resource Coordinator positions are funded solely through the Appleton Area School District. Parent/Child Playgroups, Fun in the Sun Park Days, Parent Resource Libraries, and Parent Workshops offered throughout the target schools are funded through the AASD as well as local and state grants.

How is Birth-Five different than Birth to 3?

Birth–Five focuses on outreach to all families with children five and under who are not currently enrolled in kindergarten, and who reside within the Appleton Area School District. The Birth to 3 Programs focus on identifying and supporting children ages 0-3 who have delays in their development. Children receiving support and services through Birth to 3 have met the eligibility of a 25% delay in development or atypical development, or have a diagnosis likely to lead to a developmental delay.
