Why is Playing Important?

The great thing about playing with your child is that it’s about having fun – and learning! Even simple things like crawling, running and dancing help learning and development. Whether it’s with parents, grandparents, friends, siblings or alone, playing is important! Playing with your child:

  • Expands creativity, imagination and problem solving
  • Explores new ideas
  • Develops relationships and social skills
  • Increases physical coordination
  • Enhances motor skills
  • Improves emotional control
  • Introduces science and math concepts
