Mission Statement

The Appleton Area School District Mathematics Program is based on a framework for a balanced curriculum. It reflects the working knowledge of mathematics that is essential for students to become responsible and productive members of an increasingly complex technological society. The study of mathematics is not simply recalling facts and performing memorized procedures. It is a way of thinking and applying problem solving skills. Students need to have the knowledge of when and how to apply mathematical concepts as well as an understanding of why mathematical processes work.
