Slow down in school zones

With the start of the new year, it's essential to revisit the importance of patience and safety during school drop-off and pick-up hours. We all share the goal of ensuring our student's well-being, and by following a few simple guidelines, we can contribute to a safer and more pleasant environment for everyone.

This update, which will be effective for the 2026-27 school year, brings district policy into compliance with state law while reinforcing expectations that have long guided classroom learning and student behavior. The Appleton Area School District wants students to be able to focus on learning while also helping them learn to use technology responsibly

Student Meal Updates

The AASD will continue offering free healthy breakfasts and lunches at qualifying schools through the CEP program for the 2026–27 school year, while also expanding the Universal Free Breakfast program at all elementary schools and select charter schools. Families are encouraged to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application each year to ensure access to additional benefits, even though CEP meals do not require it. Updated meal prices and payment instructions are available online, and the Food Service office is available to help with questions.
